My name is Omkar Dattatray Amle ,I am Indian and I live in
Junnar ,Pune. My favourite hobby is Reading and Travelling .So for last 5 to 6 years,I have taken huge interest in historical articles of this ancient world. I love to share with other history fans all the incredible facts and stories that I discover from most popular ancient books and by use of internet . I am neither an ancient history scholar nor a professional photographer ,but I hope that everybody enjoy my photos and videos.

Holi Let the colour shower joy. Holi is an important Indian and Nepalese  festival celebrated ihn the spring. According to the Hindu calender, the festival is celebrated on the full moon day of the month of phalgun. Holi is an ancient festival of India and was originally known as 'Holika'. The festivals finds a detailed description in early religious works such as Jaimini's Purvamimamsa-Sutras and Kathaka-Grhya-Sutras. Historians also believe that Holi was celebrated by all Aryans but more so in the Eastern part of India. It is said that Holi existed several centuries before Christ. However, the meaning of the festival is believed to have changed over the years.   The Last Hindu Emperor: Prithviraj Chauhan Prithviraj Chauhan is mentioned in history textbooks today mainly because he lost a major battle in 1192 against Shihab al-Din Muhammad Ghuri, based in Afghanistan. This defeat soon led to Muslim rule in much of North India under the Delhi Sultanate (1206-1526) and the Mughal empire . Prithviraj Chauhan’s defeat had serious consequences: an influx of Central Asian and Afghan warriors, the adoption of Persian language and culture, and the spread of Islam. But his defeat in one battle does not seem important enough to justify the dozens of narratives about him that have been composed since his death. He continues to be remembered in India to this day. A three-rupee postage stamp bearing his name was issued in 2000 and a lavishly produced TV series on his life, “Prithviraj Chauhan, Warrior Hero of (Our) Land” ( Dharti ka Veer Yodha Prithviraj Chauhan ) aired between 2006 and 2009 on StarTV.
