The Great Fire of London In the early morning hours, the Great Fire of London breaks out in the house of King Charles II’s baker on Pudding Lane near London Bridge. It soon spread to Thames Street, where warehouses filled with combustibles and a strong easterly wind transformed the blaze into an inferno. When the Great Fire finally was extinguished on September 6, more than four-fifths of London was destroyed. Miraculously, only 16 people were known to have died. The Great Fire of London was a disaster waiting to happen. London of 1666 was a city of medieval houses made mostly of oak timber. Some of the poorer houses had walls covered with tar, which kept out the rain but made the structures more vulnerable to fire.   Leaning Tower of Pisa : In the Italian city of Pisa ,The Leaning Tower of Pisa is the freestanding bell tower or campanile of the cathedral . It also know worldwide for its nearly four-degree lean, the result of an unstable foundation. Experts says the famous tower at Pisa will lean for at least another 200 years . In 1990,It may even stay upright well, almost upright forever .A few ill-advised construction projects accelerated the Leaning Tower's invisibly slow fall during the past couple of centuries and it titled 5.5 degrees , it's acutest angle ever . Holi Let the colour shower joy. Holi is an important Indian and Nepalese  festival celebrated ihn the spring. According to the Hindu calender, the festival is celebrated on the full moon day of the month of phalgun. Holi is an ancient festival of India and was originally known as 'Holika'. The festivals finds a detailed description in early religious works such as Jaimini's Purvamimamsa-Sutras and Kathaka-Grhya-Sutras. Historians also believe that Holi was celebrated by all Aryans but more so in the Eastern part of India. It is said that Holi existed several centuries before Christ. However, the meaning of the festival is believed to have changed over the years.
